Today a friend told me about a newsletter she thinks I may like, as it is right up my new alley. The newsletter is called Organic Bytes, and is put out by the Organic Consumers Association. Per their website, “The Organic Consumers Association (OCA) is an online and grassroots non-profit 501(c)3 public interest organization campaigning for health, justice, and sustainability. The OCA deals with crucial issues of food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, children’s health, corporate accountability, Fair Trade, environmental sustainability and other key topics. We are the only organization in the US focused exclusively on promoting the views and interests of the nation’s estimated 50 million organic and socially responsible consumers.”
The OCA has a website, and two publications. Organic Bytes is their weekly email newsletter, that “offers useful news tidbits, tips, and information for the green-minded consumer. … It is one of the most popular email newsletters focused on issues involving health, justice, and sustainability.” Their other publication, Organic View, is a semi-annual publication. I opted for Organic Bytes, because I prefer to be kept abreast of the various issues they are currently addressing, on a more regular basis.
For example, in the current issue (#224), they discuss organics, cancer, vaccines, body care, and raw milk – all things I am interested in. If you have time to check out their website, you should. It is LOADED with information. From there, it is easy to subscribe to either of their newsletters. (www.organicconsumers.org)
