A few days ago I pulled a bunch of body products out of my bathroom cabinet to examine them for toxic ingredients, and they were all bad. So I took a picture of them, and put them in a heave-ho pile. Well today I pulled another batch out from the deeper recesses of my bathroom cupboard, and did the same thing. (I know, it’s bad when you have one storage area of the main products you use every day, and then a whole back-up set for everything. Gluttony, anyone?)
Anyhow, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by now, but I still was – everything in this batch also had at least one chemical from the naughty list, most had multiple. I don’t know why I’m surprised, considering A) part of the reason I embarked on this journey to live more consciously in the first place, is because I realized I have no clue what I’ve been putting in my body, and B) I have done enough research lately to know that if you are just randomly buying products off the shelf based on how they smell or what they promise they will do for you, most of them are not good. But, there it is.
Now I won’t lie. It is hard to wrap my head around the idea that I am going to be getting rid of all these products. Some of them were not cheap! I rather like some of them too. But it’s funny how your view of things can change, when you learn more about them. I am really not sure what I am supposed to replace all this with though.
