Today’s affirmation from the Center for Spiritual Awareness is: “My story makes me interesting but it does not define who I am, only what I went through. Today I’m writing a story filled with abundance, compassion, passion, and creativity. The movie Hollywood could make from my story would be a blockbuster!”
This affirmation is good for me because I sometimes get stuck in my past – what I’ve been through, the mistakes I’ve made, the ramifications those decisions had, the things I wish I could change, etc. I don’t know if that’s because I’ve grown up with a mother that is so stuck in the past and consumed with regret, or because I have that tendency as well. Either way, I do like the notion that your past does not determine your future, but rather is only the story of where you’ve been. Things can always change for the better.
