In my search for healthier, more natural body products, Kiss My Face is a brand I often run across – at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, at Nugget Market, and at Whole Foods. Kiss My Face believes that nature makes the best ingredients. They combine natural and organic ingredients, to create products that are good for us, and the planet. Their products do not contain unnecessary chemicals (like propylene glycol, SLS, phthalates, or parabens), artificial colors, or animal ingredients. They do not test on animals either.
Here is what I have tried by them so far:
Almost Butter Ultra Creme Rosemary Melon – Ingredients include juniper berries, lemon balm, lavender, chamomile, angelica, marshmallow, oat protein, sunflower, shea butter, jojoba, olive oil, cocoa butter, rosemary, sweet orange, and mandarin orange. This is awesome!!! It smells delicious, and has a great consistency – somewhere in-between lotion and body butter. Which is why I assume they call it “almost butter”.
Eyewitness Eye Repair Creme – Ingredients include certified organic floral water of chamomile, eyebright, hawthorne, organic horsetail, echinacea, rose hips, lemongrass, certified organic soy oil, certified organic sunflower oil, lavender oil, meadowfoam oil, certified organic olive oil, and shea butter. This eye cream is a nice, sheer formula, and feels soothing to the skin after applied.
Break Out Botanical Acne Gel – Ingredients include certified organic floral water of peppermint, lavender, rosemary, sage, certified organic herbs of red clover, golden seal, juniper berries, lemon balm, certified organic aloe vera, witch hazel, peppermint oil, tea tree oil, chamomile oil, camphor oil, and bergamot oil. This acne gel is really effective, not too harsh on skin – it doesn’t dry it out like some acne treatments do. It has a great minty smell too.
Whenever Shampoo & Conditioner Green Tea & Lime: The shampoo contains organic floral waters of rosemary, chamomile, & lemon, infusion of organic herbs of nettle, olive leaf, calendula, sage & lavender, organic aloe vera, lavender oil, green tea extract, wheat protein, and lime oil. The conditioner contains organic floral waters of lavender, hibiscus, & lemongrass, infusion of organic herbs of horsetail, rose hips, lemon, red raspberry & thyme, organic aloe vera, organic jojoba oil, lavender oil, green tea extract, organic sunflower oil, wheat protein, wheat amino acids, and lime oil. The bottles are 100% biodegradable. These both work really well, and come in travel size.
Upper Management Styling Gel Grapefruit: Ingredients include organic waters of nettle, calendula, & chamomile, and vitamin E. The bottle is 100% biodegradable. Comes in travel size. Allows me to slick my curly hair back in a ponytail no problem.
- Whitening Aloe Vera Toothpaste Cool Mint: Ingredients include aloe vera, peppermint oil, olive leaf extract, Iceland moss, menthol, and tea tree leaf oil. This toothpaste has a minty flavor, that leaves my breath nice & fresh!
- Active Enzyme Deodorant – Ingredients include baking soda, clay, and a vegetable enzyme. It is a solid deodorant stick, that goes on clear – which I like. However, it made my armpits feel sticky – which I don’t like.
- Liquid Rock Deodorant – Ingredients include willow bark extract, and lichen extract. The packaging is 100% biodegradable. Unfortunately, the deodorant does not work. It does not smell good, so neither do my pits.
- Hand Creme Grapefruit + Bergamot – Ingredients include organic green tea leaf extract, organic thyme leaf extract, organic golden seal root extract, organic lemon balm leaf extract, organic sunflower seed oil, organic jojoba seed oil, grapefruit peel oil, bergamot fruit oil, shea butter oil, and vitamin E. This hand cream smells sooo good! It feels really nourishing to my hands when they get dry.
So far I’ve been really satisfied with Kiss My Face. The only products that were fails, were the two deodorants I tried. Other than that, definitely worth checking out.
